Operation Snowball is an international youth program that empowers youth through prevention education, community advocacy, and leadership development to create a positive impact.
We develop youth leaders by providing diverse education on Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Drug Prevention, Healthy Decision Making, Mental Health Awareness, and Community Advocacy.
We empower students to use their knowledge, motivation, and passion as a driving force to create a positive impact.
Operation Snowball is founded on the belief that youth and adults can make responsible decisions when provided with factual information and an opportunity to develop an understanding of oneself and their motivations.
Operation Snowball (Naperville Chapter) is fondly referred to as “Snowball”. It is a fun, engaging, and popular youth leadership development program. 360 Youth Services partners with Districts 203 & 204 to coordinate this teen-led and adult-supported program for area high school students.
Presented in a weekend retreat format in a safe and respectful environment, the program addresses challenges facing teens, which help:
Presentations, workshops, activities, and small group discussions all combine to empower teens to make healthy lifestyle decisions and have a positive impact on their peers. The name comes from the idea that “If I have a positive impact on you, you can have a positive impact on someone else, and the effect snowballs”. The program began as a teen and adult-led alcohol, tobacco, and substance use prevention program, and has expanded into a program that addresses many additional issues relevant to teens today.
“This is my first time at Snowball, and I’ve never felt this welcomed anywhere in my life.”
– 360 YS Former Operation Snowball Participant
